Crate and Barrel

So Crate and Barrel, your email asks me if I would like to know “What’s new in the kitchen”. I’m sure you aren’t shocked to find out that I truly do not care. Oh, you have this fabulous new trash can that’s stainless steel and opens with the tap of a peddle? That’s amazing! Unfortunately for you, Target has one of those too…and its not $159.99. I love that. $159.99 for something you are going to put GARBAGE in. Unless that trash can has a little gnome in it that cleans my room, reminds me to take a birth control pill, and then tells me if ‘The Office’ is new this week, I do not believe it is worth it. Last winter, I woke up and my snowboot was stuck to my plastic trash can with melted cheese after a drunken, late night, cooking experiment gone awray. If I had a trash can that costs more than my monthly student loan payment, I might be forced to re-evaluate my life decisions… God knows I’m not ready to do that.

I actually looked this trash can up on the the internet and found a review from a college student talking about how great it was for eliminating kitchen odors. That's awesome. Does vomit containing whiskey, Keystone Light, and 2 slices of $1 pizza count as "kitchen odor"? If so I know a couple of frat houses that would be very interested...size would be an issue though.

I will end this blog with my normal "its ok if you like/do this" note. If Crate and Barrel is your thing, then that's just lovely. To my many friends that have regsitered at Crate and Barrel for their weddings, I promise not to get too reckless around your garbage cans. To those of you that are in college and have priorities that include eliminating kitchen odor and reviewing garbage cans online...I'm really glad we aren't friends.
